Variegated Trachycarpus fortunei.
Saw it at Wisley over the weekend. Picture here just to try and get it out of my system. I wonder how many seeds you have to grow to get one of those!

First I've seen. As they usually say "Will brighten up a garden".

There was one in the back field of the Palm Centre for years. I guess it is still there. Peter Jenkins raised a variegated waggy once. They look horrible to me.

Paul the Palm Centre (Martin Gibbons) was awarded the National Collection status for trachycarpus back in 2010. They moved their variegated palm to the greenhouse to include it in the display. The collection has now gone from the Palm Centre and I believe certain palms have been passed to Bill Howarth.

Re: Variegated Trachycarpus fortunei.
Thank for that John. Shows how little notice I take of things when I go there!

Paul I remember that palm being planted in the back field and it does not seem it was that long ago. I presumed the one in the picture above is the same palm.

Hmm, I've looked at this thread a couple of times. It's still a no from me, as it looks a wrong'un....but I don't like variegation anyway
