Re: Chelsea flower show (Uocodendron whartonii)
I obtained mine from Nicolas Locke (Mevagissey) last May. It's from the Crug collection. It has been standing outside all winter, unprotected, and hasn't blinked. Seems, therefore to be pretty hardy.

Re: Chelsea flower show (Uocodendron whartonii)
Hi Doug, It has been grown in the Pacific Northwest for a few years and also appears hardy. However, we have had a very cold and snowy February. There is a large one in a collectors garden near Seattle. I think it could take the cold----I'm worried about the unusual amount of snow. I hope no branch breakage occurred. Maybe someone in Seattle who reads GOTE could give an update? Thanks! P.S. It is also very expensive to buy. Is it expensive in the UK?

Thanks Chad. That's expensive --- in same range as US source. But the Crug plants are in bigger pots so that's better. When I see prices like this --- I think oh I should fly to Vietnam and just plant hunt myself!

I think I'll have plants available in 2lt pots at nothing remotely like £65 this year. Was walking through masses of it in Vietnam last November...
